Counseling Intern
Shontae Walker
Hi, I’m Shontae, a Dance/Movement Therapy counseling intern committed to helping people reconnect with themselves through movement, creativity, and body awareness. I have a BA in Social Work with a specialization in Child Welfare, in addition I recently completed an MA in Social Science with a focus on Dance/Movement Therapy and Community Centered Practice. My clinical interests include the use of embodied and creative practices to support trauma recovery, emotional regulation, identity development, and healing in community.
My approach is trauma-informed, client-centered, and rooted in cultural responsiveness. I bring my experience in social services and collective care into the therapy space. Whether you’re exploring identity, navigating life transitions, or simply seeking a deeper connection to yourself, I aim to create a supportive space where you can move, reflect, and grow at your own pace. I strive to create a safe and affirming space where you can explore your emotions, strengthen self-awareness, and move toward healing at your own pace and in your own way.
Whether you’re navigating life transitions, stress, grief, identity questions, or just want to feel more at home in your body, I’m here to support you. No prior dance experience is needed—just a willingness to be curious and open to your own process.
