Kate Goldhaber
PhD
I am a licensed clinical psychologist and Associate Professor at Loyola University Medical Center. I joined Mosaic for the opportunity to serve the Oak Park community as a therapist and teacher. I have over 20 years’ experience treating depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, transition to parenthood, emotion dysregulation and interpersonal difficulties. I see clients in individual, couples, family, and group therapy formats. I have specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD. I find it rewarding to help clients process past experiences and build skills to promote healing, peace, and achievement of their goals.
I obtained my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Virginia. I completed my predoctoral internship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA and my postdoctoral fellowship at The Family Institute at Northwestern University.
I believe effective therapy provides support, education, and collaboration in problem solving. I work alongside clients to set goals, create and try out solutions, review progress, troubleshoot, and celebrate successes. I assist clients in developing insight into the triggers, functions, and maintaining variables for the behaviors they wish to change. I am passionate about teaching. I value opportunities to help clients learn and implement skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I look forward to helping you develop self-understanding, self-compassion, and both the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve your goals.
