"What if I fall?"
"Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?"
- Erin Hanson
Hello! I’m Jessica, and I am passionate about empowering clients to connect with their authentic selves and strengths in order to heal, grow, and make meaningful life changes.
In the therapy room, I utilize a compassionate, strengths-based, and culturally sensitive approach to provide a calm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel safe to explore and process openly. I approach therapy as a collaborative process and draw from different modalities to fit your unique needs.
I enjoy helping clients learn more about themselves and develop skills to manage anxiety, burnout, and depression, build healthy boundaries, relationships, and work-life balance, and improve self-esteem. I am also passionate about working with those who are navigating grief, trauma, or life transitions. I understand that some life experiences, big or small, expected or unexpected, can be difficult and leave you feeling lost. I am here to reassure you that you do not have to face them alone.
After previously working in the corporate world for many years, I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University in 2021. Since then, I have worked in university, emergency room, and private practice settings. Additionally, I have experience working with the sexual violence survivor community, which led me to pursue my 40HR Sexual Assault Crisis Counseling training certificate through the ICASA in 2020. I feel that my diverse professional experience both in and outside of the mental health field enriches my work with clients.
I currently see clients both in-person and virtually in Illinois. I am also licensed in Indiana and serve those clients virtually. From the everyday stressors to the big life moments, I am here to support you as you find your footing and your way again. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you on your path.
