Anneliese Lozano
LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with experience in the residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment settings. Since 2018, I have had the privilege in supporting adults and adolescents seeking to address difficulties related to eating disorders, mental health disorders, process addictions/substance use disorders, and trauma.
I would describe my therapeutic style as genuine, non-judgmental, collaborative, and direct. I aim to both accompany and challenge you, prioritizing trust and safety in the therapeutic relationship in order to promote healing, self-expression, and deep reflection.
In a therapy session, I start from an approach centered in Motivational Interviewing (MI), drawing from psychodynamic and attachment-based theories, later incorporating therapeutic modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the expressive arts. Throughout the therapeutic process, I aim to create opportunities to help you learn how to hold hope for yourself, trust and practice the process of change, and to learn the value of embracing discomfort and difficult emotions.
I am especially drawn to individuals who are working through issues related to ambiguous loss and grief, those who are seeking healing and connection in their relationships after experiences of abandonment and rejection, those who relate to the immigrant experience, those who are exploring cultural, racial, gender and sexual identity, and/or those healing from experiences that have estranged them from who they want to be and the life that they want to live.
I offer individual and family therapy to adolescents and adults, both virtually and in person, at the Orland Park Office. I have a deep passion for providing safe and affirming care for those who are part of the queer/LGBTQIA+/and sexually diverse communities. I offer therapy services in English and Spanish.
