Ann Dvoretsky
Hi! I'm Ann, a therapist working with clients ranging from teens through older adults to help navigate through anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and identity exploration. My approach is grounded in trauma-informed care, humanistic values, and emotional safety. Using an empathetic, deeply conversational approach, I meet you exactly where you are and create a safe, judgment-free space. For teens and young adults, that may include support in managing the unique academic, social, and emotional pressures of those pivotal years. For older adults, we may focus gently on grief, aging, and finding ongoing meaning in life.
To directly target anxiety and depression, I blend the practical coping tools of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Together, we will use CBT to untangle overwhelming thoughts and break down anxious patterns, while utilizing DBT skills like emotional regulation and distress tolerance to help you navigate intense moods. I pair these concrete tools with mindful acceptance and existential exploration, making our sessions feel like an open, natural conversation rather than a rigid routine.
As someone who emigrated to the United States in my youth, I deeply understand the unique challenges faced by immigrant and first generation individuals and bring that cultural insight into my practice as well. In addition to supporting people from various backgrounds and ethnicities, I also celebrate all sexual orientations and gender identities. For trans and gender-diverse teens and adults, that means culturally competent, supportive care and a gatekeeper-free process for gender-affirming surgery letter writing.
Therapy with me is about building deep trust, reclaiming your empowerment, and helping you feel completely seen, heard, and at home in your own skin.
